April 8, 2014 SORSOGON CITY - Ground breaking of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) building at the City Hall grounds.

Onuora Daniels, Disaster Preparedness and Response Coordinator Climate Change Adaptation Program of the United Nation-World Food Program personally appeared just for the said occasion. Said project has been funded by the UN-WFP.

This was made possible thru the linkages of Hon. Sally A. Lee and also with the effort of the people behind the City DRRMO.

Sa impormasyon na ipinalabas ng Matnog MPS agad na natiklo kahapon  ang suspetsadong kinilalang si Joseph Detecio y Garais 38 taong gulang at residente ng brgy. Camachile, matnog, Sorsogon. / 

Nahuli ang nasabing suspek sa bisa ng warrant of arrest na pinalabsa ni Judge fred jimena ng RTC branch 55, irosin sorsogon ./ 

Nahaharap sa ngayon sa kasong  4 counts of rape ang suspetsadong si detecio./ Samantala hindi naman pinayagang makapagpiyansa ang nasabing suspek.//.

April 8, 2014 : CASTILLA - Binugbog at pinilit lang umano ng mga pulis sa Castilla MPS ang suspect sa panggagahasa sa 2 taong gulang na bata ng Brgy. Amumunting, Castilla Sorsogon./

Ito ang ipinahayag ng suspetsadong kinilalang si Archie kung  kaya ito napilitang umamin na sya ang may kagagawan ng panghahalay sa nasabing bata./ 

Taliwas ito sa kanyang naging pahayag sa wow smile radio kung saan tahasan nitong inamin ang pangmomolestya sa biktima./ 

Matatandaan na mismong ang suspetsado ang nagpahayag noon sa Wow Smile Radio na hindi siya pinilit ninoman sa kanyang pa gamin sa nasabing krimin./ 

Subalit sa pagkakataong ito baliktad na ang kanyang nagging pahayag,  Ayon pa sa suspect, pinilit lamang umano sya ng mga pulis na aminin ang krimen. / 

Samantala, patuloy pa ring ginagamot ang bata sa isang ospital sa Legazpi kung saan labis itong naapektuhan sa nasabing krimen.//

Kinilala ang biktima na si  Darwin Delgado 33 taong gulang  residente ng  brgy.  Lorenzo. /  

Sa panayam ng wow smile radio sa asawa ng biktima sinabi nito na nagpaalam lang ang biktima na magpapastol ng kanilang alagang kalabaw ngunit hindi na ito bumalik. / 

Nagulantang nalang ang asawa nito ng kaninang alas 5 ng umaga ay madiskubre nitong wala ng buhay ang biktima habang nakabitin sa puno ng langka./sa impormasyon Napag alaman na mayroon itong kabit na natuklasan lang ng asawa sa celpone na ginagamit ng biktima./

Ito naman ang ipinaabot ng mismong tatay ng biktima kaugnay ng mga balitang kumakalat na patay na umano ang bata. / 

Samantala, nanawagan ang ama ng biktima na itama ng Castilla municipal police station ang kanilang ipinalabas na salaysay na di umanoy wala ng buhay  ang batang biktima. //

RAPE CASE UPDATE

April 4, 2014 - WOW Smile Radio interviewed one of the relatives of the victim and confirmed the alleged rape of the 2-year old girl in one Barangay of Castilla, Sorsogon.

According to Nenita (not her real name), the incident was discovered more or less 10 in the evening 03 April 2014.

The victim along with two other sisters (10 and 6 years old) were sleeping when the suspect carried the 2-year old girl away from the house where the suspect use the main door as his entry point as he has easy access to the unlocked main doors of the victim's house. Parents of said children were all not inside the house that time. (the father was just two days working in a construction job in Albay).

Nenita told WOW Radio that the victim was brought to the rice fields where the alleged rape took place

The Mother Liza (not her real name too), got home from a benefit dance where she used to sell cigarettes and candies as part of their livelihood, found the youngest daughter missing. She immediately ask for assistance from her neighbors and they found the young girl (Baby) at the "Pilapil" of the ricefield. The girl was in at state of shock, just sitting (the private part was bloodied believed to be from the sex organ of the victim), "Dai ngani siya naghihibi pero dai man naghihiro an mata bagan natagalpo" - the mother narrated to Nenita. (she's not crying but eyes could not even move/twinkle because of shock)

Meanwhile, Police investigators from Castilla MPS proceeded to the area and have yet to give reports as of the press time.

Hon. Isagani "Bong" Mendoza, Castilla Vice Mayor, told WOW Radio that he already called the COP of PNP Castilla to thoroughly investigate the said incident.#

Ayon sa impormasyon nagulat nalang ang ina ng biktima ng pagdating nito ng mga dakolng alas dyes ng gabi kagabi galing sa pagtitinda sa isang sayawan ng hindi nito nakita ang kanyang bunsong anak na babae./

Kaugnay nito agad nilang ginalugad ang nasabing lugar upang hanapin ang nasabing batang babae./ Nagulantang nalang ang kapamilya ng biktima ng makita nila sa gitna ng parang ang bata na nanginginig at duguan ang may harapang bahagi./

APRIL 3, 2014 - A possible tropical cyclone (Bagyo) to landfall in the Samar-Leyte area on April 8. 

The cyclone is also forecast to move north after landfall and eventually post threat to Bicol area.

A recurve or veer away from the country after its landfall is also very possible. (sana)

Although this cyclone is predicted to be moderate in strenght at 120kph we still have to brace ourselves preparing for the worst.

Updates will be posted in case of any significant change.

APRIL 3, 2014 - The World Food Program confirmed that the funding for the DRRMO building shall be downloaded to the City LGU.

There will be a ground breaking for said building construction by Monday?

Ladies and Gentlemen Good Morning! 

The Sorsogon Provincial Summit on DRRM is the first DRRM summit conducted in the Bicol Region, this is because we in the regional level based on our assessment believed that Province of Sorsogonis one of the most organized in the context DRRM.The purpose of this summit is to roll out the last year Regional DRRM summit for LCEs, introduce tools to be used, and this also served as avenue for the national agencies to visit provinces to personally assess the level of development on DRRM. Moreover, this is the time to showcase the Sorsogon practices on DRRM.

Republic Act 10121 otherwise known as "Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010" calls for building disaster-resilient communities and capacitating national government agencies, local government units and other partner stakeholders. It serves as a means to enhance the opening mechanisms of the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and management System (PDRRMS), overcome its gaps and transform it form a reactive into a proactive stance.
In the operation of PDRRMS, Local Chief Executives (LCEs) plays a vital role.
